Q:  WHEN CAN I BEGIN TAKING DRIVING LESSONS?
A:  BY LAW YOU MUST HAVE A LEARNER'S PERMIT OR DRIVER'S LICENSE TO TAKE DRIVING LESSONS.

Q.  DO YOU PROVIDE TRANSPORTATION TO AND FROM THE DRIVING LESSON?

A:  YES, FREE PICK UP/DROP OFF.
 
Q:  WHY SHOULD I TAKE DRIVING LESSONS FROM A DRIVING SCHOOL?

A:  THERE ARE MANY BENEFITS (SAFETY, SAFETY, SAFETY) TO TAKING PROFESSIONAL IN-CAR DEFENSIVE DRIVING INSTRUCTION.  OUR VEHICLES ARE EQUIPPED WITH A BRAKE ON THE INSTRUCTOR'S SIDE AND WE ARE TRAINED TO TAKE THE WHEEL WHEN NECESSARY.  WE ADVISE ABOUT FALSE PERCEPTIONS AND HABITS THAT MAY RESULT IN CITATIONS OR COLLISIONS BY REMAINING CURRENT WITH TRAFFIC LAWS.  WE EXPOSE YOU TO MANY ADVERSE/DIFFICULT DRIVING SCENARIOS TO GIVE YOU THE KNOWLEDGE, PREPAREDNESS, AND CONFIDENCE TO HELP YOU MAKE SAFE DRIVING DECISIONS WHEN YOU ARE ON YOUR OWN.

Q:  WILL MY INSURANCE COMPANY GIVE ME A REDUCTION ON INSURANCE IF I TAKE DRIVING LESSONS?

A:  SOME INSURANCE COMPANIES RECOGNIZE 6 HOURS OF IN-CAR DEFENSIVE DRIVING LESSONS.  IT'S BEST TO ASK YOUR INSURANCE COMPANY WHAT DISCOUNTS THEY CAN OFFER YOU.

Q:  HOW MANY DRIVING LESSONS WILL I NEED?

A:  EACH DRIVER IS UNIQUE.  DRIVERS CAN TAKE ONE OR MORE LESSONS.  WE RECOMMEND A BEGINNER START WITH 3 LESSONS  FOR 2 HOURS EACH.  AFTER EACH LESSON AN EVALUATION IS DONE TO OUTLINE PROGRESS AND AREAS NEEDING ATTENTION.  WE ALSO OFFER SPECIFIC NEEDS DRIVING LESSONS SUCH AS:  PARKING MANEUVERS & ROAD TEST PREPARATION, EXTRA HIGHWAY DRIVING & INTERSTATE.

Q:  I NEED TO GET MY LICENSE, BUT I AM VERY NERVOUS.  WHAT WOULD YOU RECOMMEND?

A:   MANY STUDENTS COME FOR LESSONS VERY NERVOUS.  BEING NERVOUS TO LEARN TO DRIVE IS NORMAL.  DRIVING IS A HUGE RESPONSIBILITY AND THE DANGERS ON THE ROADWAY ARE REAL.  A THOROUGH UNDERSTANDING OF THE TRAFFIC LAWS, ROAD RULES, AND PRACTICAL EXPERIENCES WITH A  PATIENT, PROFESSIONAL DRIVING INSTRUCTOR CAN HELP YOU TO BECOME A CONFIDENT DRIVER.

 Q:  CAN I TAKE YOUR CLASS IF I RECEIVED A CITATION OR COURT ORDER IN ANOTHER COUNTY/STATE?
A:  YES, ANY COUNTY IN FLORIDA IS ELIGIBLE TO TAKE OUR CLASSES.  SOME STATES WILL ALLOW YOU TO TAKE OUR CLASSES (CHECK WITH THE STATE FOR COURT ORDER).  FLORIDA MAY ALSO REQUIRE IT IF YOU'RE TICKETED OUT OF STATE DEPENDING ON THE CITATION.

Q:  WHY SHOULD I TAKE A TRAFFIC CLASS WHEN I GET A TRAFFIC TICKET?
A:  BESIDES ALL THE SAFETY BENEFITS, ELECTING TRAFFIC SCHOOL WILL KEEP THE POINTS FROM GOING ON YOUR LICENSE.  THIS MAY ALSO ALLOW YOU TO KEEP YOUR SAFE DRIVING STATUS WITH YOUR INSURANCE COMPANY (KEEPS RATES FROM INCREASING). 

Q:  HOW OFTEN CAN I TAKE THE TICKET CLASS?

A:  THE 4 HOUR "BDI" (BASIC DRIVER IMPROVEMENT) CLASS CAN BE TAKEN ONCE A YEAR, 5 TIMES IN A LIFETIME. (CHANGE 7/1/10)

Q:  CAN I TAKE THE TICKET CLASS IF I HAVE A COMMERCIAL DRIVERS LICENSE (CDL)?
A:  A CDL LICENSED DRIVER CAN ONLY TAKE THE CLASS IF IT IS COURT ORDERED OR TO MEET A DMV REQUIREMENT. 

Q:  WHAT CLASS DO I TAKE IF I HAVE TO TAKE TCAC?

A:   FOR THE "TCAC" (TRAFFIC COLLISION AVOIDANCE COURSE), TAKE THE 4 HOUR "BDI" (BASIC DRIVER IMPROVEMENT) CLASS.

Q:  WHAT IS THE 4 HOUR "BDI" (BASIC DRIVING IMPROVEMENT) CLASS?

A:  THE 4 HOUR "BDI" (BASIC DRIVER IMPROVEMENT) CLASS, ALSO KNOWN AS THE TICKET CLASS, IS TAKEN WHEN YOU RECEIVE TRAFFIC CITATIONS SUCH AS:  SPEEDING, RUNNING A RED LIGHT, A COLLISION, ETC.  THIS CLASS MAY BE AN OPTION YOU ELECT TO KEEP THE POINTS OFF YOUR LICENSE, COURT ORDERED, FULFILL THE DHSMV CLASS REQUIREMENT FOR THE "TCAC" (TRAFFIC COLLISION AVOIDANCE COURSE), RUNNING RED LIGHT, PASSING STOPPED SCHOOL BUS, RECKLESS, ETC.  THIS CLASS CAN BE TAKEN AS AN EMPLOYER REQUIREMENT.  THIS COURSE IS DESIGNED TO EXAMINE DRIVING BEHAVIORS AND LEARN WAYS TO IMPLEMENT CHANGE OR PREPARE YOU TO DEAL WITH DRIVING BEHAVIORS OF OTHERS ON THE ROADWAY TODAY.  THIS CLASS IS AN INTERACTIVE WORKSHOP THAT MOST PEOPLE FIND RELAXING (NO PRESSURE - NO TEST), AND FUN YET THOROUGHLY ANALYZES DRIVING SITUATIONS AND REVIEWS TRAFFIC LAW AND ROAD RULES TO ENABLE YOU TO BECOME A SAFER DRIVER.

Q:  WHAT IS THE 4 HOUR DRUG & ALCOHOL CLASS "TLSAE" (TRAFFIC LAW & SUBSTANCE ABUSE EDUCATION)? 
A:  THE 4 HOUR DRUG & ALCOHOL CLASS "TLSAE" (TRAFFIC LAW & SUBSTANCE ABUSE EDUCATION) FULFILLS THE MANDATORY REQUIREMENT FOR THE NEW FLORIDA DRIVER TRYING TO OBTAIN A LEARNER'S PERMIT OR FIRST TIME DRIVER'S LICENSE.  THIS COURSE IS AN IN-DEPTH LOOK AT THE TRUE FACTS ABOUT ALCOHOL AND DRUGS, THEIR DANGEROUS SIDE EFFECTS, LIKE ADDICTION, AND SERIOUS CONSEQUENCES IF COMBINED WITH DRIVING.  THIS CLASS ALSO DISCUSSES TRAFFIC LAW WITH CASUAL CLASSROOM PARTICIPATION, YET, A SERIOUS METHOD IS USED TO DISCOURAGE DRIVING WHILE UNDER THE INFLUENCE.

Q:  WHAT ARE THE 8 HOUR AND 12 HOUR DRIVER IMPROVEMENT CLASSES?

A:  THE 8 HOUR & 12 HOUR DRIVER IMPROVEMENT CLASSES ARE FOR MORE SERIOUS TRAFFIC VIOLATIONS.  THESE CLASSES MAY BE COURT ORDERED OR MAY BE ELECTED BY A DRIVER THAT HAS ACCRUED TOO MANY POINTS AND STANDS TO HAVE THEIR LICENSE SUSPENDED. IT MAY ALSO BE A REQUIREMENT IN THE PROCESS FOR LICENSE REINSTATEMENT OR YOU MAY BE REQUIRED TO TAKE THE CLASS IF CITED FOR DRIVING ON A SUSPENDED OR REVOKED LICENSE.  TO ENSURE THE APPROPRIATE CLASS SELECTION YOU MAY NEED TO CONTACT YOUR LOCAL CLERK OF COURT - TRAFFIC DIVISION OR DRIVERS LICENSE OFFICE.  ALTHOUGH THESE CLASSES ARE 8 OR 12 HOURS, THEY MAY BE DIVIDED INTO TWO SESSIONS.   THESE CLASSES ARE INFORMAL POSITIVE WORKSHOPS DESIGNED TO EVALUATE DRIVING BEHAVIORS, CHOICES AND ATTITUDES TO TRY AND ELIMINATE FUTURE INFRACTIONS. 

Q:  WHEN DO I GET MY COURSE CERTIFICATE AND WHAT DO I DO WITH IT?

A:  YOU WILL RECEIVE YOUR CERTIFICATE THE DAY OF CLASS AND IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO SUBMIT IT TO THE APPROPRIATE AGENCY.

A:  IN MOST CASES YOU CONTACT THE CLERK OF COURT - TRAFFIC DIVISION .
